Thinkput

Ben Schmidt
Author
I am going to help you build the impossible.

Thinkput is throughput for thinking: how much actual judgment you ship in a stretch of focus, not how many hours you logged or how much you produced.

The two used to track together. AI broke that. Output is cheap now, you can generate pages in seconds, so volume tells you almost nothing about whether any thinking happened. Thinkput is the part that did not get cheaper: the deciding, the noticing, the is-this-actually-right.

Measured this way, a lot of busy days look thin. That is not a failure of effort. It is the measure finally pointing at the scarce thing.
